Box lunch is provided. Please have participants note any dietary restrictions when registering.
Class Requirements:
Registration deadline is seven (7) days prior to the scheduled class. Minimum class size is 8 participants. If fewer than 8 people register, the class will be rescheduled to the next regularly scheduled class. No refunds.

Exam Retakes:
You can retest only if you did not pass the examination, or if your current certification is expiring. You will need to purchase a new exam each time you need to retest. You can take the examination twice within 30 days. If you don’t pass the exam on your second attempt, you must wait 60 days from your most recent attempt before taking the exam again.
No more than four attempts are allowed within a 12 month period. You will need to purchase an new Exam Answer Sheet to retake a print exam or purchase a new Exam Access Code to re-take an online exam.
Retests must be proctored by a Registered ServSafe Proctor. Contact the individual or organization that proctored your first exam and tell them you want to retest. Or find another exam location or proctor on ServSafe.com.

Nebraska Innovation Campus Parking Information:
Visitor Parking at NIC Using the Passport Parking App | Parking Lot North of Transformation Drive
Visitors are welcome to park in the lot north of Transformation Drive (red parking lot at top of the map) and use the Passport Parking app (Zone 9900) to pay for parking. Paid parking is enforced from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The rate is $1.25/hour or $6/day.

On-Street Parking at NIC
On-street parking at Nebraska Innovation Campus (light blue spots along the streets on the map) is metered at $1.50 per hour and is enforced by the City of Lincoln Parking Services Division from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Please pay for metered on-street parking using your phone (Zone 80) or by using a physical pay station.

Pay by Phone: Use the Passport app. Simply create an account or log in, select Zone 80, enter your plate number, select your time, then click continue to start your session. A text message will be sent as a reminder before the session ends.

Pay Using a Pay Station: Two physical pay stations (one located on 21st Street near The Mill and one located on Transformation Drive) allow visitors to pay for on-street metered parking using a credit card or coins. Park your vehicles on the street and then go to a pay station. At the pay station, enter your license plate number and purchase parking. The pay station uses license plate information to identify vehicles and know that a visitor has paid.
Please note: Pay stations are for on-street metered parking payments only. Pay stations cannot be used to pay for parking payments for vehicles parking in the paved lot north of Transformation Drive. Parking in the paved lot north of Transformation Drive must be paid for using the Passport Parking app (Zone 9900).

If you do not park in the assigned area and pay the parking fee you risk having your vehicle ticketed or towed.

Andreia Bianchini, Ph.D.

Food Science and Technology Department
University of Nebraska – Lincoln
Dr. Andréia Bianchini is a Professor at the Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. She also works closely with the Food Processing Center at UNL. She has a B.S. degree in Food Engineering and a M.S. degree in Environmental and Agricultural Microbiology, both from Brazil. Her Ph.D. degree is in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Her research area of interest includes processing for food quality, safety and security. Recently her research group has focused on improving the safety of grain and grain based products throughout their production and processing chains. She has 49 peer review publications and has contributed 14 book chapters to several references and textbooks. She is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists and Cereal & Grains Association. Dr. Bianchini has also led training in food safety for more than 15 years including Better Processing Control School, Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) training, and ServSafe®.
